Zuma Marble Legend is a remake of the classic Zuma game involving balls or marbles of various colors. The player controls a firing mechanism that shoots balls of the same colors, and the object of the game is to pair groups of three marbles together of the same color so they vanish from the board. The goal is to remove as many marbles from the board as possible before they reach the end since they aren't static, but instead they move through a set path on the game board. The more marbles are popped, the more points the player will receive, and those higher scores will mean greater bonuses and more frequent power-ups.
In this Zuma title, the plot suggests that the player is attempting to find King Zuma's legendary treasure. In the classic game mode, which is the Adventure mode, there are a total of six levels that must be beaten to win, and winning is only possible if the player collects all three special stars within each of the six levels.
The game boards for this title appear much like mazes, and the colored marbles float past at a decent pace so the player can reach as many of them as possible. The only way to completely pass the level is to clear the maze of all of the marbles, and boosting your score to its highest possible level is a secondary goal of the game. Using the included power-ups and bonuses, it is possible to reach incredibly high scores by tweaking your style of play.
The second game mode in Zuma Marble Legend is called Challenge Mode, and it is better for quick games that aren't included in the full campaign of the Adventure Mode. The player can select any of the six individual levels to play during the Challenge Mode, and it is more about boosting your score to its max.
This title is fairly entertaining compared to other similar puzzle games, and the graphics are just as smooth and unique as any other game in this style. Since this is for the Android system, it has included touchscreen controls that are surprisingly responsive and easy to use. The mechanics of the game are easy enough as well, requiring only a few taps from the player to shoot colored marbles or swap out the ball that is about to be shot with the next in the queue.
Like most games of this nature, it is filled with intrusive ads that can make it much more difficult to accurately make your shots. Many players find the ads overly invasive, and despite the fact that is app is rated for players of all ages, the ads are sometimes inappropriate for younger children or teens.
